An odd day

I am at school, the only teacher here on a school day. Many of the kids are on a school
ski trip. I declined to go, for once, as I have kids that need help on their Science Fairs. Now the rest of the kids are bowling, to which I was also looking forward. Alas, Science Fair reared its ugly head again. Any students behind, I kept at school. I have a few kids here that are not terribly focused and certainly not happy with me. However, they are actually getting work done, enough that I can do a quick blog.
Between my laps checking progress, I have begun to play more on flickr. I have had an account for a while, but not taken advantage it yet. The "23 Things" is the motivation I need to learn more about flickr.
Currently, I am uploading pictures from my recent ski trip to Montana. The photo attached (embedded?) is from a backcountry day. I like that large tree in the middle of a barren slope. By the way, it was a great day of skiing. =)
OK, time for another lap around the classroom.
Hope everyone is having fun!

Hello again today!
I am writing from an after school detention. I am not in detention, by the way, but am running it. It is frustrating, as it is for Science Fair work, and many kids skipped it. I just want them to be successful, despite themselves!
OK, back to kids.
Have fun.

Beginning the begin

This is my first time blogging, and I can't imagine too many are going to chance upon this, but I will still try to use proper grammar. =)

I am beginning blogging as per the directions of an on-line tutorial called Vermont's 23 Things, helping educators take more advantage of web opportunities.

Speaking of, I am a teacher in northern VT, near Canada. I teach middle school science and have a good time with it. I am also an avid skier and aspiring gardener.

Well, for a first post, let's see how this looks.

Thanks, and have a fun day.
